Tammy Potter

Me: I am fascinated by what makes people tick, and as I look back the thread throughout my career is behaviour change. Beginning in the weird and wonderful world of sexual health and public health campaigns in the NHS, transitioning into innovation and creativity at ?What If! The Innovation Company, and latterly focusing on leadership and culture change with Wavelength, and for the last six years as the Global Talent Director at Dyson. I have a global mindset, I have experience managing global teams, working across continents, and have lived and worked in China and the USA.

My Approach: I believe in accelerating great people and businesses one conversation at a time. I establish deep, trusted and productive relationships with an open, honest, brave and passionate style. I am business focused and driven - I get things done, I like having a corner to fight and always try to do the right thing for the people and the organisation. I talk and swear too much, and get distracted fixing things but I care deeply, work hard and laugh easily.

My Aim: I want to do brilliant work with brilliant people, and I am passionate about creating a more fair, more sustainable future. I believe in the power of truth in business, and have an interest in responsible leadership.

Professional skills and expertise: I have a 2:1 BSc in Experimental Psychology and North American Studies from the University of Sussex, a year of which I studied in Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia USA. I am accredited to the Hogan psychometric suite and have just started studying for a PG Certificate in Business and Personal Coaching. I have designed and implemented behavioural change, leadership, OD and top team effectiveness interventions and coached and facilitated at executive, senior and middle management and early careers levels.

My clients: The Forward Institute, As We Please, Wavelength.

“Tammy’s approach to coaching is disarming - it feels like a conversation with a friend but she challenges and questions with great insight and steers to make sure the discussion uncovers the issues. She helped me reflect on decisions and direction in a most helpful way.” Alex Knox - SVP New Product Innovation, Dyson

“Tammy has a unique ability to cut through the bullshit to get to the point. She asks challenging questions using her intuition and insight to help people shift where they need to. Over the years she has pushed me forward with her advice and support, and many other leaders seek her out for her honesty and fresh perspective.” Laura Hagan, CHRO, Tate & Lyle

“Tammy is a remarkable partner. Clear sighted, compelling and passionate about working with you on the challenges and opportunities all business leaders face. Tammy brings a rare combination of empathy, energy and challenge to her work with senior leaders and board members. She’s uniquely able to cut through to the insights that shape policy, culture and personal development”. Shantha Shanmugalingham, CCO, ROLI Music
